As a requirement of Occupational Work Place Health & Safety Regulations, Electrical Safety Act and Australian Standard  3760:2010, all businesses are required to conduct a work place risk assessment. This usually determines that their electrical equipment and safety switches require tested and tagging at regular intervals. Time intervals vary with the type of environment the equipment is used in and is determined by Australian Standard 3760.

The majority of testing and tagging businesses are only qualified to test and tag but as we are licensed and qualified electrical contractors we are able to make any repairs required to your equipment at the time of testing. Also we come to you in the office, workshop or even on site.

Shocksafe Electrical use the latest (PAT) portable appliance testing machines with label printing capabilities and data capturing software and all testing complies with AS 3760:2010. We print labels in different colours and designs to suit different appliances and all labels have a clear adhesive protective film over test tag to protect it from damage.

What is the cost for testing and tagging ?

Single phase equipment - Only $1.10 per tag including

Three phase equipment  - Only $1.10 per tag including gst

Fixed or portable safety switches - Only $1.10 per tag including gst

Please note:

Our minimum charge is $150.00 including gst. This includes testing and tagging up to 20 items.

All testing and tagging price's are in addition to an hourly rate of $95.00 per hour including gst.

How often does my electrical equipment require testing and tagging ?

Construction/Building sites - every 3 months.

Factories, workshops, places of manufacture etc - every 6 months.

Environment where the supply cord IS subject to flexing during normal use or IS in a hostile environment - every 12 months.

Environment where the supply cord is NOT subject to flexing during normal use or is NOT in a hostile environment - every 5 years.
